Scholarships!

Seniors, instead of wondering how you will pay for college, do something about it! Here is a lengthy list of scholarship opportunities...

Zinch offers a $1,000 weekly scholarship. Just complete an application and answer an unusual question. Go to zinch.com/scholarships/weekly

The AES Engineering is offering a $500 scholarship to students with good character. Applicants must write a 500-1000 word essay answering the question: 
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

AXA Achievement Scholarship selects one winner from each state to be named an AXA achiever. Winners can receive up to $25,000 in scholarship money. Only the first 10,000 applications are accepted. Go to AXA-scholarship.com for more info. Deadline: Early December.

The Gates Millennium Scholar program is looking for minority students interested in a career in computer science, public health, math, science, engineering, education or library science. Applications are online at gmsp.org. Deadline: Mid-January

Ayn Rand Institute hosts several essay contests for high school students. Winners can earn up to $10,000 in prizes and scholarships. Visit the Ayn Rand Webpage for contest rules. Deadline: Mid-October.  

Coca Cola is looking for students with a 3.0 GPA, leadership, character, civic and extracurricular activities, academic excellence, and community service. Applications are online at cocacolasrholarsfoundation.org. Deadline: October 31

Comcast Leaders and Achievers offers a $1000 scholarship to students involved in their schools and communities. See Mrs. Brown for more information. Deadline: Early December.
